1. Get the development needs. Boil it down to the superior three development needs, or in short, “what are you hoping to get from the program?” Typical the desired info is “learn how you can be strategic”, “leading change”, or some mix of functional knowledge (finance, sales, and marketing). There could be is really a timeframe that’s better or worse than these (i.e., next 6 months, steer clear of the summer, etc…)
2. Search your chosen executive education providers.
3. Once you discover one or two potential programs, look for a good fit. Look at the recommended participant level, participant mix, industry mix, and company participation.
4. Look into the instructors, read the bios. Evaluate the day by day agenda, topics, and activities. Again, you desire a good fit for your participant and his/her development needs. Talk with the provider’s Exec Ed Director, or someone who may help you find out about the programs.
Ask other’s when they have knowledge of this program.
5. Speak to past participants if at all possible, or someone in control of leadership/executive development development.
6. Geography is often a factor. Hunting for a global experience? Than get a good mixture of global participants, or even better, attend a plan outside the U.S.
7. Amount of program: Programs range any where from 2-3 days to six weeks. I honestly don’t know how someone can afford to venture to a 6 week program nowadays, unless they’re on the sabbatical or their business is just hoping to get rid of them for quite a while.
8. Browse the amenities’. All right, I am aware, this is a learning experience instead of a vacation, but first class food, accommodations, and surroundings each one is the main total experience. Also see if the area and foods are contained in the program.
9. Factors that should stop an element of a determination: alumni relationships, timing coinciding together with the NCAA playoffs, and catchy program titles.
10. After all on this, narrow it into 2-3 program, and then select based on best fit, timing, and charges.
